Google Chat: Google added Red Warning feature in chat, how it works for you, know...
Google is going to add a bright red warning banner in chat to alert people about suspicious invites/links, which could be a cover for phishing or malware based attacks. The feature has been rolled out, and is set to roll out to both the mobile and desktop versions of Google Chat in a few weeks for users who haven't received it yet.
Whenever there is a potentially dangerous message in the chat, Google will try to flag it in a bright red color box next to the message - this invite is suspicious. These conversations contain links to known phishing sites, which may attempt to steal your data. For which you can either reply through Block or Accept option.
