Google Play will soon allow users to pay the bills of friends and family.

At Google I/O Connect 2023 Bengaluru, the search giant announced a new India-only feature that will allow users to pay  their friends and family's Google Play bills. Users can share a payment link with friends and family via  messaging apps like WhatsApp, and the other party can pay for the purchase on their behalf.

This is part of the Play 6.0 Billing Library and is only available in India. This feature will  be available  to all Google Play users later this year. It can be used to purchase games, rent movies, and obtain in-game content.

This link is valid for 24 hours and  payment must be made within this period to complete the transaction. If you share a purchase link with a friend or  family member, they can access your email address to  see what you're buying and request a refund.

At this time, I'm not sure if there are any limits to how much I can pay for friends and family.
Google Play currently supports multiple payment options in India, including Credit Card, Debit Card, UPI, Google Play Balance, and users can also pay with their Paytm wallet directly from the Google Pay payment gateway.
