The Wall Street Journal reported on Friday that YouTube is conducting internal testing of its online gaming product, citing an email sent to employees of Google's parent company.

The company invited  employees to start testing a new YouTube product called Playables.The report adds that games that can be tested include titles such as arcade game Stack Bounce.

The game can be played on the YouTube website in a web browser or on  devices running Google Android and Apple iOS mobile systems, the report said.
A YouTube spokesperson said the game has been in the spotlight for a long time, adding that the company is experimenting with new features and has "nothing to announce right now.

"The WSJ report said hosting online games on YouTube,  popular  for game streaming and watching video game broadcasts, is part of CEO Neil Mohan's push for new growth areas  amid slowing advertising spending.
