Google Pay launches UPI Lite for faster small value transactions

Google Pay  introduced UPI Lite, a feature that allows users to quickly and easily make  UPI transactions without entering a UPI PIN, allowing transactions to be completed with a single click. 



UPI Lite allows fast payments even during peak hours. It has a higher success rate compared to regular UPI payments.

What is UPI Lite ?

UPI Lite allows you to quickly make small UPI payments  without worrying about transaction limits. This payment system provides users with a seamless and hassle-free experience.

One of the advantages of UPI Lite is that it optimizes by excluding microtransactions from your bank account. Instead, these payments  only appear in the Balance and History section of Paytm, not in your bankbook.

How to enable and use UPI Lite on Google Pay ?

To activate UPI Lite in the Google Pay app, users  simply go to their profile page and click the Activate button.
 
Once the linking process is complete, users can add funds up to Rs 2,000 to their UPI Lite account, with a daily maximum  limit of Rs 4,000. 

If your transaction amount is  INR 200 or less and you have sufficient UPI Lite balance, your UPI LITE account will be automatically selected. To complete the transaction, users simply click on the "Pay without PIN" option.

How to set up UPI Lite on Google Pay?

  • Download or update the Google Pay app from the Play Store or the App Store.
  • Go to the profile page on the Google Pay app
  • Click on the setup payment methods and select UPI Lite
  • Click on continue and add money (up to Rs 2,000)
  • To make a payment using UPI Lite, just select UPI Lite as the account to pay with and click on pay PIN free
  • This will quickly transfer the amount to the payee’s bank account
