Razr 40 Ultra, Razr 40: Motorola Launches Two New Flip Foldable Smartphones in India.



Both the Razr 40 and Razr 40 Ultra are flip foldable smartphones reminiscent of the classic flip phones found on phones from the early 2000's.


Motorola unveiled its latest foldable smartphones, the Razer 40 and Razer 40 Ultra, in India on the 1st. Both devices offer fun new form factors with foldable displays. The company hopes to make foldable phones "mainstream" with its new line of Razr foldable smartphones. The Razr 40 and 40 Ultra are priced at Rs 59,999 and Rs 89,999 respectively.

Foldable smartphones are currently a niche segment of the overall smartphone market, but Motorola believes that foldable devices will become affordable in the long run. The closest competitor in the foldable phone space is a South Korean heavyweight that will announce a new foldable phone later this month. Samsung continues to lead the foldable smartphone market.

The main difference between  Motorola Razr 40 Ultra and  Motorola Razr 40 is the protective screen. The Ultra's front screen  is the largest external display of any flip phone. The Ultra's pOLED  screen protector is 3.6 inches and has a  high refresh rate of 144Hz. The large display also opens up space for new uses like gaming, music control, and more.

The Razr 40 Ultra has a 12MP main camera, a 13MP ultra-wide and macro  sensor that can fit up to 3x more into the frame, and a 32MP selfie camera on the inside screen for video calls. 
 
 Motorola offers several features exclusive to the Razr 40 Ultra, including Dual Capture, which allows users to shoot using both cameras, and Mirror Mode, which allows users to access the display cover  like a mirror with animated filters.

The Razr 40's external display  is a much smaller 1.5-inch screen reminiscent of the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4. But unlike the Razr 40 Ultra, which has a 165Hz primary screen, it uses the same 6.9-inch foldable pOLED display. and  144Hz refresh rate.





Despite being a cheaper model, the Razr 40  has the largest camera of the two devices. The foldable has the same ultra-wide/macro  and selfie cameras, but  a larger 64-megapixel main camera on an external display. The Razr 40 also has two larger 4200mAh batteries compared to the  Ultra model's 3800mAh cells.
