In May of this year, Google announced that from December 31st, accounts that were inactive for a long period of time would be deleted. The tech giant said it does this to prevent abuse by threat actors. Google's vice president of product management, Ruth Crichelli, said such long periods of inactivity could mean that an account has been compromised. Additionally, these older accounts may not have his two-factor authentication, which could put the user's personal information at risk.
